Wanted to share a poem that I wrote almost 40 years ago. It is just as true then as it is today. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Greatest Of All Time, and His comeback is the Greatest Of All Time. God bless you. Happy Easter. The Lion and the Lamb He rises from His glorious throne And slowly from His brow Removes the iridescent crown That He had worn ‘til now Divests Himself of splendid robes That shine with Heaven’s light And places on that noble seat The scepter of His might And then amidst angelic tears He bids His home farewell And plunging through the stratosphere He runs to take on Hell The little Lamb is born, where else? Where lambs are born… a stall With dirt and hay surrounding Him The King becomes a Thrall He blossoms to maturity And yet; there always looms The knowledge that awaiting Him Is voluntary doom The hour nears, to death He goes, The Lamb… a sacrifice A substitute for wicked men He pays the awful price The wrath of God is now unleashed And Vengeance has its hour The Lamb is shaken to the bone As Justice shows its power The hosts of Hell are laughing now They revel in the gloom That covers earth when hands have placed The Lamb inside the tomb Then all stand silent at the grave An eerie calmness falls The crickets quit their merry chirps The birds restrain their calls Their Maker lies unmoving now So how can they rejoice The One who gave them leave to sing In death, has lost His voice The early light of Sunday seems To break the mute despair And then a sound unheard before In triumph rends the air- More grand than all the waterfalls That rivers ever bore And louder than a million waves That crash on rocky shores— See how the leadership of Hell Is shaken to the core For now from deep within the tomb They hear The LION roar! A stony chrysalis had wrapped The wounded Lamb about What metamorphosis is this? A LION has come out! He rages, charges, wages war In vain the demons flee He races through the dens of Hell The prisoners are free! To Heaven’s gates He rides, they lift Their heads to let Him in Its doors swing open to applaud The Conqueror of sin The Father leaps in ecstacy His Son at last is home With gladness He embraces Him And leads Him to His throne The royal robes are donned again They crown Him King of Kings The vestibule of heaven shakes Creation shouts and sings The saints in jubilation rush To catch a better view The Mighty Lion has returned The cherubs crowd in too And then there is a gasp of awe They view His feet and hands And learn the wondrous secret that- The LION is the LAMB! --Jerry Dean copyright 1983

Hope you are encouraged in the new week and the promise of spring. I was just thinking of you all today and wanted to throw out this opportunity to anyone who is looking for a new challenge or area in which to grow. I am wondering how many of you would like to join me in a sugar fast until Easter (That’s 13 days away…). Here are 5 Biblical precedents/motivations/reasons… 1) To eat much honey (Sugar) is not good! Proverbs 25:27 If that was true about honey, how much more about sugar? 2) Daniel went on a partial fast (Daniel 10:3) and ate no sweets in order to seek wisdom. 3) God wants us to be as strong as a castle (Proverbs 25:28), and the fruit of the Spirit is self-control. Galatians 5:22, 23). 4) Peter challenges us to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul (1 Peter 2:11 Anybody ever battle sugar addiction?). Paul said that he fought his body and brought it under submission (1 Corinthians 9:27). 5) There is a Christian tradition of abstaining from legitimate things in order to seek God and gain greater understanding of the Lord’s sacrifice for us… Lent. No pressure at all, and no guilt at all is meant. Just wondering how many would like to get some encouragement and join me in a challenge. If you want to join me but have doubts, let me assure you that the real battle is in your head/mind (2 Corinthians 10:5-7). Here is some encouragement from the Lord, as a child of God, if you would like to give this a shot. Because Christ lives in you, this is the real you… 1) You have the Mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16 2) You have a Spirit of Power & Self-Control in you. 2 Timothy 1:7 3) You are a Super Nike (Super Winner). Romans 8:37 4) You are a Living Rock. 1 Peter 2:5 5) You are a Living Mountain… Rock Solid. Psalm 125:1 6) The real you is Dead to evil and Alive to God. Romans 6:11 (God challenges you to think this way!) 7) You are a Good Soldier of Jesus, able to do Hard stuff. 2 Timothy 2:3 8) God will give you Strength to do incredible things. Psalm 18:1,29,34 9) God will pick you Up if you slip. Psalm 94:18 10) God commands Victories for you in every area of your life. Psalm 44:4 Again, no pressure, no guilt, and no shame. I just thought some of you might like a good old challenge. If there is any other area of your life where you have goals or need some encouragement to accomplish things… please, let me know. One of my very favorite things in life is encouraging others as they seek to grow and accomplish things. God bless you a whole bunch. I hope you have a wonderful Easter season. May God help you live every day in Resurrection Power.
